Hail West “Virgina”

WVU won the NIT last night. However, I think Clemson got the last laugh. Check out the spelling of West Virginia on the t-shirts the NIT gave our boys after winning the game. Oops!

*** EDIT ***
Treah pointed out that there was now an article on foxsports.com about this, and a great photo:
NIT title T-shirts are almost heavun

*** EDIT AGAIN ***
CNN / Sports Illustrated has now picked up the story. I hope WVU gets an apology soon. I’ve seen more stories about the t-shirts than I have seen about us winning the game.
NIT T-shirt not worthy of champions

I noticed a redish brown spot on our side walk today.

Upon closer investigation, I found out the redish brown spot was made up of ants. Thousands of them!

We had some pesticide left over from an ant problem last summer. I decided to take care these ants before the problem was wide spread, and sprayed them down. I hope this is the last of them. Of course now I feel like I have ants on my legs, and they itch. I bet you’ve already scratched your leg reading this. Right?

Not This Again… Michigan

Yesterday the University of Michigan fired Tommy Amaker. He has been Michigan’s men’s basketball coach since 2001. Under his watch, Michigan has not made the NCAA tournament and has a 109-83 record. Not that great.

A day later, sports writers every where are talking about Coach Beilein being the perfect fit for Michigan. Mountaineer fans everywhere went through this last season. The rumors were that Coach Beilein was headed to NC State. These rumors turned out to not be true, and I couldn’t be happier.

I hope that this time Coach Beilein says right away he isn’t interested in leaving WVU. I have a gut feeling that he won’t. I don’t think he’ll leave, but I think he’ll leave his options open and not comment.

I guess this is the cost of success. WVU seems to go through this every off season in football and basketball.

Xbox 360 Dead for Now

About 9 months ago I got an xbox 360. I use it for playing games and also for a DVD player. Last week I was swapping out dvd’s and it froze up. I rebooted it and got an error message on the screen. I thought maybe it was just over heated as it was in use for a couple hours in a closed space. I left it off for a couple hours and everything seemed to work again.

Fast forward to tonight. I got a new DVD in the mail from Blockbuster, went to play it and after about 2 minutes the xbox froze again. I knew it wasn’t a heat issue this time, as it had only been turned on for a couple of minutes. This time after rebooting I got 3 red lights. A quick google search brought me to to this Microsoft knowledge base article. I followed all of the recommended steps and nothing worked.

Finally, I decided to call Microsoft. After spending a few minutes trying to deal with there automated menu system I finally got fed up and asked for an operator. Once I got to a human, I explained my problem. He had me repeat a few of the steps I just told him I did. He was out of ideas. He said my only option was to mail my xbox to a repair center. He also said that since I was still in my warranty period I would only need to pay for shipping to them. They would pay for the cost of the repair, and return shipping.

The interesting thing is that he told me to only ship the xbox. He said to remove the face plate, the hard drive, and the power supply. I would think the hard drive and power supply could be a cause of some problems. Especially since 2 of the of troubleshooting steps deal with both of them.

So Monday I’ll be packing my Xbox up and shipping it out to Mcallen, TX. Hopefully, in 10 business days I’ll have a working Xbox 360 again.

Mario’s Drum Along

I found this video of some guy drumming along to the Mario Brothers theme song. He’s pretty good. I thought I’d share.
